In what promises to be an epic main event bout, Joshua will take on Otto Wallin over 12 rounds, with the hope of setting himself up for another shot at the title against either Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk.

The "Judgement Day" card brings together some of the world's most accomplished former heavyweight champions, making it a historic event, as Joshua himself described it at the pre-event press conference.

Anticipation is at an all-time high, as the night could pave the way for a fight that fans have been waiting years for.

What are the implications for the victor?

If Anthony Joshua gets past Otto Wallin in this showdown, and if Deontay Wilder gets the win over Joseph Parker on the same night, it would open up the possibility of a fight between these two former world champions in March next year.

This fight has been requested by the fans and could finally become a reality, generating a great buzz in the boxing world, although many will say it should have taken place when the pair were both undefeated World Champions.

The motivation for Joshua lies not only in the sporting aspect, but also in the million-dollar figures that could accompany these clashes.

Although there is no official information about the exact purse, it is estimated that Anthony Joshua could earn around 10 million dollars for the fight against Wallin. However, the real prize money would come in the form of the Wilder fight, adding up to an additional 40 million dollars.

These figures not only reflect the importance of the fight for Joshua in sporting terms, but also the huge attraction it generates in financial terms.

The possibility of earning up to 50 million dollars in these two fights is a significant incentive and underlines Joshua's position as one of the world's top boxing stars.

But first he will have to beat Wallin, with it unknown how much he will earn, but will surely also have a significant purse on Saturday.

Looking to complete a successful 2023 at 3-0, Anthony Joshua will be taking on Otto Wallin on December 23.

With Deontay Wilder facing Joseph Parker in the co-main event, a lot of eyes will be on the Riyadh event. Dmitry Bivol will also be on the card, defending the WBA light heavyweight title against Lyndon Arthur. The event has been labeled as the 'Day of Reckoning' during fight promotions.

Ahead of the showpiece event, the Joshua vs. Wallin weigh-in will commence on December 22.

After losing to Oleksandr Usyk twice from 2021-2022, Joshua has rebounded with two big wins including a viral knockout of Robert Helenius. Wallin enters the bout at 26-1 with his lone loss against Tyson Fury in 2019.

Headlined by the two heavyweights, the weigh-ins will begin at 11 AM ET / 4 PM GMT. The full show will be streamed on DAZN, with the December 23 fights also available on DAZN PPV.

Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin fight card

With one final major event to close the year, Anthony Joshua and Otto Wallin will meet in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on December 23.

Despite speculations of Joshua facing Deontay Wilder on the card, the latter will instead be one-half of the co-main event with Joseph Parker. The entire card features six heavyweight fights, including the final two bouts of the night.

The lone title fight on the pay-per-view event features WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol defending his belt against Lyndon Arthur. Bivol returns in just his second fight since upsetting Canelo Alvarez in May 2022.

Accompanied by many other big names on the event, the full fight card is listed on DAZN as follows:

Joshua vs. Wallin fight card

Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin, heavyweight

Deontay Wilder vs. Joseph Parker, heavyweight

Dmitry Bivol vs. Lyndon Arthur, light heavyweight

Daniel Dubois vs. Jarrell Miller, heavyweight

Jai Opetaia vs. Ellis Zorro, cruiserweight

Filip Hrgovic vs. Mark de Mori, heavyweight

Arslanbek Makhmudov vs. Agit Kabayel, heavyweight

Frank Sanchez vs. Junior Fa, heavyweight

The Day of Reckoning in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday will see one of the most talent-stacked cards ever square off in a huge event for world boxing.

The headline event is Anthony Joshua vs Otto Wallin, as Joshua looks to rebuild following the loss of his world titles to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021.

Holding the fight in Saudi Arabia means that the fighters will be in line for a hefty payday, win or lose.

Boxing purses are notoriously difficult to predict, with on-site ticket sales and PPV buys factored in to the final amount, but Anthony Joshua stands to pocket between $10 and $12 million.

Otto Wallin will make considerably less at around $1 million for his participation, but this is still over three times more than his $200k deal for fighting Tyson Fury.

Normally in boxing matches, there will be an additional purse for the winner of the bout, but this exact amount is not yet known. And of course, the final deal will include a portion of the gate and PPV sales, which will not be known until many weeks after the event. So there could be a huge bonus to the fighters in the New Year.

In any event, if rumors are to be believed, AJ’s payout might just be the tip of the iceberg. After reportedly agreeing a two-fight deal between Deontay Wilder to take place in Saudi Arabia in March, the cat was somewhat let out of the bag when Wilder said that the fee for that bout would be in the $50 million range.

It would be reasonable to assume that both Joshua and Wilder would receive a similar amount, with both men being of equal pulling power for PPV eyeballs, meaning that Joshua’s $200 million fortune may be added to in a big way.

TNT Sports' boxing pundits have given their predictions for Anthony Joshua's fight against Otto Wallin on "Day of Reckoning" - live on TNT Sports Box Office.

Joshua and Deontay Wilder take part in heavyweight fights against Wallin and Joseph Parker respectively in the two co-main events on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

It is widely anticipated that former world champions Joshua and Wilder will go head-to-head in 2024 should they win their respective bouts – potentially on the same night Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk fight to unify the heavyweight division on February 17.

But first Joshua has to overcome Wallin, an opponent he has dubbed "a tough guy" and has only one defeat to his record which came against Fury in Las Vegas in 2019.

Joshua is slowly restoring his reputation after consecutive defeats against Usyk in 2021 and 2022. He was also stunned by Andy Ruiz in Vegas when WBA, IBF and WBO champion before edging a rematch with the Mexican in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

Earlier this year, Joshua beat Jermaine Franklin Jr by unanimous decision on April 1 before producing a knockout win in the seventh round against Robert Helenius on August 12.

Exclusive: Moore worries 'we may not see the best AJ ever again' ahead of Wallin bout

Wilder says Joshua does not have 'courage' to fight him

Ahead of the highly-anticipated showdown between Joshua and Wallin on Saturday, TNT Sports' boxing pundits have given their predictions on how the fight will go.

CARL FROCH

Anthony Joshua to win. Now I don't know if he's going to knock him out or win on points but I thoroughly expect Anthony Joshua to win that fight. There's so much on the line. If he loses it's game over for AJ.

STEVE BUNCE

It's a hard fight, it's a tricky fight but AJ comes through. I think he stops big Otto late in the fight.

GEORGE GROVES

Wallin is going to come in and try and be cautious. He's going to try and box and keep it long, pick the shots and might even after a few rounds be thinking about a points win.

I think Joshua will catch him at some point. I think Joshua stops him.

FABIO WARDLEY

Coming out I think it's going to be a very tricky one for AJ. A bit tentative with a southpaw but eventually he'll settle into the fight and probably finish with a knockout in eight or ten rounds.

RICHIE WOODHALL

I think AJ is going to knock Otto Wallin out.

JAMIE MOORE

AJ by knockout in around seven or eight rounds.
